Easter Sunrise Service on AMI

58th ANNUAL EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE SUNDAY APRIL 9th, 2023

At 6:30am on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023, Kiwanis of Anna Maria Island will celebrate the 58th anniversary of the Sunrise Service held at the Manatee County Public Beach (4000 Gulf Dr. Holmes Beach). The crowd normally numbers 1200- 2000 people. There is ample parking. Trolley will be up and running at 6:00am. The Anna Maria Beach Café will also open at 6:30am if you need that cup of java. Bring chairs or a blanket to sit on and dress to the weather.

It is truly an uplifting service as the Island churches participate. Father Matthew Grunfeld of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation will deliver the invocation. Rev. Stephen King of Harvey Memorial will deliver scriptures. Rev. Dirk Rodgers of Roser Church will deliver the sermon. Douglas King of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church will deliver the benediction. Matthew Nowicki Director of Faith Formation of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church will deliver the offertory.

Inspirational Easter music for singing will be provided. All are welcome to join in.

Come and share this celebration on the beach as we show our gratefulness for this Island, we call our Paradise. The Offertory collected will be divided among the Island Churches and the Kiwanis Club of Anna Maria for their SCF Key Club Scholarship program.

Approximately 4500 people gathered for last year’s service
